A comment from Huw
In these times of uncertainty it is reassuring to remind ourselves that “underneath are the everlasting arms” (Deuteronomy 33:26-27). God’s hands hold us, as His people – they protect us and surround when we feel in a place of insecurity.
But it is also a challenging place to be positioned. “It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God” (Hebrews 10:31). In our need and dependence upon God we also find a healthy fear of Him, for apart from Him and His sustaining power, we can achieve nothing. A sense of His rule and authority brings a right awesomeness and respect for His dealings with us. He calls us to obedience and faith at such a time.
Moreover, being in God’s hands brings real change. Like the potter and the clay (Isaiah 64:8) we are being shaped and fashioned in His sovereign purposes as we yield to Him. He knows what He is doing, even if we don’t! We need to trust Him in this place of transition.
Let’s allow God to transform us during this period of healing and restoration as He digs deeper into the lives of His people.
Grace and peace, Huw.
